I still like it because the ride height looks correct!

Do people even look at these things before they sign off?

no.  it's already done before the pre-production models are sent for eval...

We changed the artwork on the TopGon twice AFTER getting the test samples... it's the whole freaking point of getting them in the first place.

should look like this:

Steve finally found a source for proto-correct rolling stock.  They even offer a 60' double plug door:

Slap some weathering on that, and some MTL couplers and you wouldn't know the difference.
if you can't conduct yourself, conduct freight

Exactrail is not the first to make the EXACT error.  Russ had a car at the CR BBQ with this problem on an N scale car...

Yeah, it was the new Microtrains car with the white door and screwed up logo. I was excited to see these in HO, but screwed up logo equals 'pass' in my book. If a company can't get something as simple as the FREAKIN LOGO right, they are not worthy of my model railroad dollars. Hell even ConCor can get it right. Russ

why would two completely independent companies make the exact same mistake? same vendor?  vendor using the MTL car as the basis for the printing?

What I also find odd is that, assuming that the artwork was drawn from scratch, it would be additional work to add the space!

it's probably the same vendor and they used the same artwork and rescaled it.

Maybe their artists were using something like this as a "reference"--
