Your Z train will look great, and that's one of the "things" about N scale. A lot of cars and weathered trailers.

I've been obsessing over trailers, trying to build up enough loads for a decent Z train:

Gary, these are awesome.  Are you doing modern day or some period in the past?  The trains through Stevens Pass include most of those too, plus a block of JB Hunt/Hub Group/Schneider 53' containers up front.  Working on those, but Z scale's missing the good trailers.

Actually, Mindheim only uses paper for the doors.  And I prefer to think of it as a thong appearing above low cut jeans.

If you go to the HO forum, there is a wider shot.  I just wanted to zoom on the brick print to show that it really looks like 3D.

Last I checked, Lance is using full paper walls on his Downtown Spur layout.  HE often cuts out the doors and sets them back in to create a mroe 3-d effect.

I'm pretty sure he just does that for mocking up the buildings.

I've been obsessing over trailers...

Gary excellent work! You'll have to post a blog with the technique! I have quite a few trailers I have to paint up for WM, as well as commercially available stuff for...trailer trains.

As for myself I've been working muchas horas en mi trabaja, then add 2 to 3 hours per day commuting! Additionally the previous weekend my (reenacting) unit did tent maintenance, training for our newer members, a little D&C for guys that were lacking, weapons maintenance/training, a 3 mile night patrol with 19 troopers, "moral building activities" (imbibing heavily), and finally glory shots.



Ready to jump. Ready for action.

This past weekend nothing much got done. Ran into Ed and Charles at MBK. I tried to get a vid of my new Wallyworld 2-8-8-2 with DCC and sound, the subject and execution was good however I was limited by the camera...ugh! I also did some more ballast tests. Looks like I will have to chalk up to using a wetting agent for the ballast.

Very Nice! Can you share more photos of the engine house?

Finally got around to adding the doors to my engine house, wonder how long it will take me to paint and weather them.  ;D
