The power plant plays into the revision idea of going down the Susquebanana to Columbia, where there's the big coal fired power plant.

The thing that would cinch the Enola look, and might help with the height of the scene divider would be to move the highway around and elevate part of it to model the world famous overlook bridge at the throat... in its former rickety glory, of course, hair pin turns and all!

Yes I am liking the power plant. Too bad the new Custom Model Railroads Power Plant isnt in N yet. I think the plant too would fit better for the area, and allows you to just be swapping your inbound/outbound loads,.

That whole scene is about the size of the whole layout, however, one of Dave's strongest talents is in  astutely scaling down the MASSSIVE PRR into model railroad sized scenes, so if anyone can do it, he can.

I was thinking of the power plant in Columbia when I wrote that.  Too bad someone doesn't do a nuc power plant.  Could fit in somewhere and have a short spur for outgoing loads of spent fuel, ala Three Mile Island which isn't that far from Enola.

Wasn't there a kit that came out around that time...early 80's, probably Model Power or one of them, that was called "Three Mile Island", complete with a concrete cooling tower?  Seems to me it was along the same lines as the Life Like Pizza Hut, and the county jail kits...

You'd have to get some of those glow in the dark covered hoppers with the radiation placards on them...  and some N scale figures with three legs and stuff like that...

I think the kit was made by Con-Cor and the Cooling towers were like 10-20% the size that they should be.

^ I built the HO version about 15 years ago.  I think it did.  It's pretty basic though.
