Another one of my usual bad luck situations.

After doing up the Erie 44T I saw the decals getting low so ordered 3 more sets from MBK.

The ones on the left are my old ones that match up perfect color wise when put on over black. New crap on the right.

Can't roll your own even with an Alps because of the color. It would come out yellow with a bunch of red dots on it.

On the old decal set, the top right Erie with wings logo:  it looks like the R is backwards.

solid yellow shades printed with an Alps - no red dots nor lines

LOL  I was about to say I thought it was you (or Robert Ray) who told me that.

So are you saying I can hire you out to do these in Z scale?  ;)

Many of those colors require OKI spot colors and OKI opaque white in addition to the normal ALPS cartridges.  Some colors may also require up to 7 different passes to get the proper shade.

A good resourse for ALPs decal printing and the same color chart with the mixes.

I use Alps opaque white (yes, it's available) together with the OKI spot colors with the same results...
(...and thanks for the link with the whole page)
