HO buildings suitable for N?

So I've noticed that HO scale buildings are really big, but look too small next to HO freight cars.  For example, the set of 8 Walthers Silos is about the same length as a grain car!

Of course, the problem exists in N, but it isn't as noticeable. 

So, who uses HO buildings in N?  What mods are necessary besides the obvious door and window sizes?  Somethings might scale and work, like brick in HO might be cinderblock in N.

I ran into this when doing my Alkem Steel Modules in 1996. The HO Blast Furnace is really too big for N Scale, but now we have N Scale Blast Furnaces that are right-on,  so no problem.  Back then there was only the HO blast furnace.  However, the HO Rolling Mills work great in N scale.

Tom-- I have done a number.  Here is a side view of the Walthers HO Municipal Pier to which I have added N scale doors.



My gallery of available photos is currently limited but I did an article in RMC a few years ago about converting a Bachmann HO skyscraper to N by rearranging the window panels.  I'll try to post a few photos of that on the weekend and include a few more shots of the Pier.

I`ve used the Pikestuff HO buildings with N scale details. Right now I`m using 2 small enginehouses in HO to make an N scale paper warehouse.
