To answer my own question - no, it looks like these appliances are still on these cars for the most part.

Purchased
one today.  The etched parts not being installed was the deciding factor.  Depending on how the Athearn cars are finished this one may be stripped and redecorated as SP Railroad Police since it was a frequent LA harbour and coast line visitor...

I have an undec Athearn one on order for the Police caboose, the decals and a/c units are waiting on my desk. :)

Same... although I expect Athearn to offer the Police scheme eventually anyway.

From the work order, real well.  We will also be doing the Brown version in a few months I believe.

Most awesome.  My wallet is angry but my layout will be very, very happy!

Any chance for the correct off-white deck and black rub rails on the yellow TT runner pack?

I know what you're saying Robbman, but they didn't stay white for very long....

I can check...those decisions happen in a different department and normally I don't get to see what is being done at that level.

While we're talking 89'ers Joe (sorry to hi-jack this thread), how about an Espee version with a Golden Pig trailer? It'd be real nice if we could buy the trailer separately too...

But remember it was an oddball time constrained paint scheme.
