MTL Bay Window Cab. On time but Two roadnames to start.

Wow - except for the wrong roof, wrong sides, wrong end, wrong railings, wrong vent, wrong bay window and wrong trucks, it's pretty close!

Seriously, I'm no longer working myself into a tizzy over MTL...  If they do something useful, wonderful, but I'm not expecting or anticipating anything soon.

Remember waiting with baited breath for their monthly announcements????

Maybe Walthers will someday come out with their HO bay window caboose in N...  It's a good match for CR cabins.

Hm, I wasn't even in N scale back then.  I started in N in 2002, doing 1956 PRR.  Since starting in CR last year, I haven't seen these around... 

A quick search on eBay for these in any road came up empty.

But now I know to keep my eyes open.

...except that the photo shows the same bay and sides for both cars.  Does that mean he'll offer a more correct CR cabin later?

No one mentioned this yet that I noticed, but the Conrail class they painted is an N5H.  I agree that I would much rather see the Walthers caboose in N since it is more useful to a greater pool of modelers.  The paint on the Conrail car looks good.  I may have to get one for the sake of supporting MTL's Conrail efforts, which don't occur that often.  The same goes for the 50' single door Conrail boxcar they put out last month.  It is a nice rendition of an ex EL BE50F, albeit with an 8' door rather than the correct 10' one.  Thanks.

This from MT's site description. I have never heard of a bay window referred to as a 'side-hung Cupola.' Is thie because, in MT fairyland all cabooses have cupolas, and the C-50-9 is obviously 'special', and so we all have to pretend to make it feel right at home?

Personally, I was hoping they'd create a foobie, and give it a diagonal panel roof, so I could create a fleet of early WP steel bay windows. Foiled again...
