Another weekend has passed.

Many of the RW crew were in Harrisburg this weekend for the CRHS BBQ.


I spent some time reworking some turnout linkages and replacing a DS54 with DS64 .

Worked on some trailers with some home made decals....

A "politically incorrect" trailer for 2009 is perfect for my 1973 layout - once I saw a picture of this on Hank's Truck Picture website I knew I had to have one.....



The next trailer has been seen on Canadian roads in pretty much the same livery for 50 plus years....



The font isn't perfect, but close enough for me....



The Atlas trailer won't ride correctly on the MT car due to the height of the wheel bolsters - gotta fix that...

Here's a little foobie effort....Interior Transport is another "have no idea" company that "expands" the Puddington Valley layout without actually building anything.....

In the early 20's, the B&M painted two P2 Pacifics in a colorful blue, buff, and red color scheme, the colors of a Continental soldier's uniform (1776), naming them Paul Revere and William Dawes, Jr.  I had to have one!  I was unable to shrink Paul Revere's signature to a size that would fit under the cab windows but, in N scale, who could read it??





In the late 20's, they painted two P2's in a two toned green scheme for assignments to the "Flying Yankee".  The gold B&M box herald is beyond my printing abilities but, I "adapted" the scheme and applied it to one of my own D&RJRR mountains using left-over decals from a New Haven project.

I got the opportunity to attend the Conrail Historical Society Rail-B-Q yesterday in Marysville, PA and managed to purchase from the CRHS this Conrail 50' boxcar which fits in perfectly with my 1980s-era RF&P equipment and rolling stock.  I admit that I was also reeeeeeally tempted to buy an Atlas C40-8 in Conrail paint.  I used to see those and the wide cabs in run-throughs to Richmond, Virginia back in the late 1980s and early 1990s.  I am doomed when Atlas releases the CW40-8s.


I also received a gift from Lee Weldon, my personal chauffeur yesterday ;D, of this 40' C&O boxcar.  Thanks, Lee!  It will make good company for the rest of my C&O equipment of an earlier era, like this:

The RailBQ was terrific...



... but I also enjoyed visiting Dave Foxx's C&O on a Door layout.



He graciously allowed some "foreign power" to switch for a bit.  A very smooth running layout.

He's very modest about his work, but I find it to be very well executed.  His river looks great, and you can really see the care that goes into everything from building the trees to laying the track.


Andy and I really enjoyed our visit.  (photo by Andy).

Also enjoyed being in the company of my two other Door Layout gurus, Dave Vollmer and Ed Kapuscinski.  But it was Carl's outstanding effort to make sure there were some Polock Johnny's sausages (along with The Works) that made the whole weekend worth it!

Thanks, Lee.  You and Andy are welcome back anytime and feel free to bring more WM power along.  Maybe next time, we'll have time to run the layout a little more.  I enjoyed seeing your low nose Geep again, and I really enjoyed seeing it on my layout.  You've done a really nice job on that chopped nose.

By the way, I enjoyed my first Polock Johnny's sausage with the works yesterday.  Yum!  That alone made the trip to Marysville worth it.  ;D

Can't wait until next time, fellas!

Spending Saturday with Dave Vollmer, Dave Foxx, and Ed Kapuscinski I worked on my door layout most of Sunday. Here is a few shots I took last week of a GP40-2 creeping down the branch I just completed that will serve my steel mill (hopefully in the near future)

yours are the only layouts projects I've seen that don't actually LOOk like projects LOL   I wish my girls cleaned their rooms as well as you clean up your layout room    ;D ;D
