That is interesting....

I'm not quite sure what to make of it...the way that statement is worded, it sounds more like a merger than a joint production and distribution agreement.

Sounds like RC is just shacking up with IM.

The way I read it, Red Caboose will maintain ownership of the tools and IM will simply take orders and produce as needed.

This is pretty strange.

They did say they were moving...I suspect it is a fairly local move in the Denver metropolitan area. But it looks like they are moving to IMRC's facilities. Manufacturing businesses live on short term credit to pay for production and it's been damned hard to come by.

Strange indeed:

"InterMountain Railway Co. has also taken over all future N & HO production of announced Red Caboose product"

"Future Red Caboose product will remain in Red Caboose packaging"

Huh?  I'm sure Chuck will keep us supplied one way or another.   ;)   BTW, I talked to them on the phone last week about a moving sale order and they mentioned that they were moving 5 miles east (further from Longmont) but, not surprisingly, they didn't indicate anything about these plans.

P.S. They also note that MBK bought up the remaining stock of auto racks.  Is this it on racks for a while?   ???

So Red Caboose will only be doing development work on new products but won't fool with production and marketing. Sounds like RC will be a one man show.

They must have gotten a good deal for everything as they have them all listed at $24.99 now.  Conrail heaven for me right now.

We have seen many products such as Fighter aircraft , and autos being made in other countries . I think RC is just following suit , they still control their product line , which is a good sign . Free's them up to do whatever else is on their mind without upsetting supply and interest being lost . What surprises me more is that IMRC has the manufacturing space , time , people to incorporate the RC line . Now if the actual product in pooped out in China ( is it ? ) then IMRC is a mere order and distributing arm for RC . That would be an easier task for IMRC to take on .

Take the two most inconsistent and unreliable manufacturers and put them together????

Sounds like Chrysler/Fiat.

So what is the schedule on those new flatcars????????????????????

Interesting, especially given that IM is also distributing ESM products too.
