Envirodude's scenery makes mine look so-so, but I made a major accomplishment in the past week and feel it needs to be displayed.  I finally got around to pouring a second layer of Envirotex Lite and topping that off with a stippled coat of Gloss Medium to add some "movement" to the water.  Unfortunately, I read in the directions after the pour that the shelf-life of Envirotex is approximately one year.  This batch is probably at least four years old!  However, it cured fine, despite a thick pour.  Whew, that was slightly unnerving!  This horribly backlit picture emphasizes the "ripple" effect.



I really like how the water reflects the trees and the sky blue color of the walls of the layout room:



Oh yeah, the lead locomotive in the first shot is the former Chessie System (C&O) GP7 #5717 and now C&O GP9 #5924.  Thank you, Atlas, for the availability of decorated shells!  Justifying my purchase of the kitty-schemed GP7 last year, that locomotive fortunately provided the proper blue trucks and fuel tank without any additional expense.  I like it when a plan comes together.

Nice work Erik... but is that a CNJ express boxcar in the middle? I thought I owned the only model of those in N scale  (wish I still had a pic, will have to try to dig it out and re-photograph)

Lifelike E6 / E3 but I got the wrong shell for Santa Fe but I completed the paint scheme :
It may be of interest as I'm using Alclad 2 paints for the high lustre metal finish - it was an experiment kinda ;D
I have a few more decals to go on it to finish it.

All of my N Scale stuff is packed in those two big boxes on the left.  Hope the container doesn't fall off the ship on it's way back to the states...

Haven't figured out what I'm going to do for the next 60 days while everything is on the slow boat.

Thanks, guys.  I appreciate the compliments.  You're too kind.  The funny thing about that shot is that it's one of those test shots where I was too lazy to move the lights but I kinda liked the end result and didn't immediately delete the photo on my camera.  Well, the backlit train is obviously poor photography, but I couldn't get a better representation of the waviness of the river surface.

Timmy, if you're interested in the GP7 shell, I'm sure we can work something out.  I really would rather see it go to good use than to be destroyed and end up in a landfill (or in pieces on a Norfolk Southern line, if Bob had his way ).  Here's the before, in case you're wondering what it looks like:
