Micoscale Decal Source

Hey gang, I'm looking for a set of microscale decals, they're currently sold out and discontinued at Microscale and at Walthers, so I need to find some place in the "pipeline" that might have some.

I don't want to cause a run on them, so I don't want to mention what they are.

Ed, if you will PM or e-mail me what you're looking for I'll check in the D/FW, TX area, (I promise not to tell) or I can give you the two or three shops that actually carry decals around here.
NOTE: I'm no longer active on this forum.   If you need to contact me, use the e-mail address (or visit the website link) attached to this username.  Thanks.

He lives 5 minutes from MBK, and used to work there.  I'm assuming that vein has been worked...

I think he might be looking for the paint out set.  But that's just speculation...

Don't know if this helps but the Conrail Police is interesting.

I have tons of Micro Scale decals I need to sell, but most are for western railroads. I bought almost all of the remaining stock when Longs got out of model railroading. Why don't you just come out and tell us what you need.  ???

Coal, he mentioned the reason (very valid) to not cause a "run" on that decal set. BTW: Some forgein countries are using a totally different method of making decals than the usual "silk-screen" method for aircraft and armour. Probably the latest generation of color laser printers from the unbelievable detail on tiny markings. I'm talking 10 power jeweler's loupe to read the markings on a propellor blade marking (but you can read it!). They aren't cheap. Sold seperately, often $10+ a set.
I dream about someday having a nation-wide data base of stores who have "X" decal in stock, like thousands of car and truck salvages do with parts. You can "Google" " wiper motor for 1963 Studebaker Lark" and get 10,000 hits. Honda Accord parts get you Billions (with a "B" hits!) for many parts. It will take the server 5-10 minutes to load them for many cars unless you limit your search to "within 50 miles".

Ok, I found 5 of them, so now I can put the word out (sorry guys, wasn't trying to be a d-bag).

The decals that have dropped out of production are 60-628, Conrail Diesel Data and Stripes.

N scale supply had some, so I stocked up there. My fellow CR modelers would be wise to do likewise, AND to email Microscale expressing your disappointment.

Yep, discontinued by Microscale, so they're only available at places that already have them.

Ed, 60-628 is listed as 'Active'.  So unless you know something other than what's on the site, they will be run again.  If they were discontinued, they would have been removed from the site when the number in stock hit zero.  Ask me how I know.  :(

Interesting, because when I was at MBK yesterday I was talking with their gentleman who orders them, and he asked, "would you like the bad news? or the really bad news?".

The bad news was that they didn't get them. The really bad news was that the invoice said "discontinued, will not be back ordered".

So I don't know what's up with all that. But I know Walthers is showing them as out too. I'm hedging my bets.
