More Bluford cars announced. (PRR, PC, SLSF and WP)

86161 Pennsylvania single car, 86162 2-pack. Delivered in 1966, this group
of PRR cars was the largest batch ever delivered of this type of car. PRR
had such a huge freight car fleet (over 112,000 cars of all types) that a
typical mixed freight anywhere in the country was statistically certain to have
some PRR cars in it!

86181 Frisco single car. 86182 2-pack. Frisco served auto plants in
Oklahoma and Missouri plus handled considerable bridge traffic from the Deep South
to the Midwest and Southwest. The Frisco was acquired by Burlington Northern
in 1980.

86191 Western Pacific single car, 86192 2-pack. WP had a large Ford plant
on line at Milpitas, California and forwarded parts from Midwestern parts
plants to this facility. Since this group of cars was part of a large
multi-plant pool, a number of WP cars could be seen moving parts between the South
and Midwest as well.

86171 Penn Central ex-PRR single car. PC 237851 had been delivered in PRR
paint but shortly after the 1968 Penn Central merger, the car was renumbered
and the PRR keystone covered by the new PC logo. Apparently the PRR tuscan
red was in too good a shape to warrant repainting the whole car green...

Yes they do, Batch 4 has arrived in the shops (DT&I, D&RGW and early CR) about a month late waiting on a part to arrive. There still are a bunch of schemes to do, but I would suspect we may see a new car announced late this year.

Just saw the correct photos at CHuck's place, and the WP and Frisco are just a little "early" for me . Darn.

Good news though, the DGRW units are shipping. I have a feeling that there will be plenty versions for everyone on these. Just a matter of time.........and $$$$$$ ;D

I know. I'm lucky so far, of the two CR cars they've done, one is such and oddball that I only can justify one, and the others are too modern.

But when they hit the 80s scheme, I'm in trouble.

What I like about these guys is that they release one, two or three numbers per scheme at a time. Makes it easy on the wallet and considering their 86' length, on the yard. Nothing for me with this release, but I just can't wait to see some more GTW cars and those mauve DT&I ones (if they match the car that is).

Awesome stuff!  As tempting as they are (especially the PC one), the size scares me off.  At 86', it would still look awkward on my 15" radius curves and be so much larger than anything else on my consist as to appear to be a different scale...

I probably will get one anyway.  That PC box is HAWT!!!

Sean, send the shot to Bluford and they might do it. They seem to have a thing for doing specific cars... especially CR. I'd buy one of those.
