IMRC SD40-2W

Saw samples of these today at Supertrain. The guy at the booth said variations were planned and they should be available in 6 months (I will believe that when I see it). They used the Atlas SD60 trucks from what I could see, and had the correct GMD style steps. I have a photo that I'll upload in a bit when I unpack my card reader.

This is pretty good news for CN modellers, and I'm guessing the mech will be pretty useful everyone else.

I should also add that I saw TLT's newsprint cars which also looked sharp.

OHHHH man! Widecab SD40-2! I knew IM was working on a SD40-2, but I never thought they would start with such a specific prototype.

Yeah, heh heh.

Then again, the joke may be on us. Those Tunnel motors are not the greatest models around, to say the least. The only positive is that the TM shells come off the frame real easy... without even trying. Good because I can see these going on some Kato SD40-2 frames that I bought for the SD40-2W's I was going to build. Guess not anymore.

So when were these announced? I new that someone was going to be doing these in N because a little birdie told me, but I can't recall an announcement... unless this WAS the announcement.

They'll "tap dance" all day long for the "animals".
A "western modeler" that also runs NS.

Alister, no the staff were keeping an eye on them, plus I hate adding handrails!  ;D

Mike, I think this was the announcement, but you're right it was low key.
