Roughed in some ground cover around the refinery

Just this,it's Z scale.Car is Micro-Trains,.coil load is made from Evergreen telescoping tubing.Since the pic was taken I have inked on the strapping ,but it looks like crap.

Did a little digital modeling, still getting things unpacked from last month's move. Added a background and headlight lens to this shot I took last year.



Also did a little trackplanning for a switching layout based on the CNJ Newark branch:

Unfortunately I am unable currently to "accomplish" much, if anything with regards to modeling. A yet as undetermined condition has left me with no feeling in my right index finger; severe tingling in the other three right fingers and constant pain in the right arm and my back; the doctors are doing tests; most of which I don't really want to contemplate the reasons for.... personally I think I'm pregnant..LOL

I am, therefore not really able to model much as manual dexterity is not where one would want ( as witness; it's taken me about five minutes to type this)

So, if you can't model trains; find some kids and run em... which is what we did Saturday - Sammy and his buddy Andrew ran both the Samuel Ridge and Northhill sub's..... it was a chore "hostling" for them.....

The Fairbanks-Morse(Canadian Locomotive Company) personnel would be proud of this FM line up at the Samuel Ridge engine house. We ran a C Liner (Life Like) leading lash up with the 16-44 (Bachmann) - even in DC it worked ok; the "growling" sound was very prototypical.....

What is it about kids and bright colours ?



Sammy always want to run the Action yellow CP van and Andrew insisted that every train he ran (inclusing a steam headed passenger) had to have the "dirty pumpkin car".....

I'm not sure that the PGE fans will appreciate the reference but what the hey.....

Nothing like 2 hours of trains with a couple of five year olds wearing train hats to make you forget your own issues !

I have not been modeling, but cleaning up!  Anyone watching the National coverage on the nightly news, shortly after noon this past Friday, a Tornado cut across Murfreesboro TN.   I am a resident of Murfreesboro, and was not affected by the storm.  My girlfriend was even more fortunate and her house was spared, while other homes on her street 30 yrds away were completly destroyed.  I have taken numerous pictures over the past 2 days and have posted the links to my Picasa folders.

The tornado cut a 15 miles path across the city and was rated today as a F2. 250 homes destroyed, 300 damaged, 55 injured, 7 critical and 2 dead.  If any fellow modelers on the this forum would like to help the families here locally that has lost everything plese go to the following Red Cross Link:

I hope folks will step up and help a realy good cause.  I am not affiated with the Red Cross, just a Murfreesboro resident.

Technically speaking this would be from last weekend instead of this weekend, but I didn't get the pictures out of my camera until yesterday.

I managed to get a bit more work done on the ICRR Bridge module before last weekend's Zane show:



As I've told a few people, this thing wasn't supposed to be my life's work, but it feels like that's what it's becoming, at least in terms of model railroading.  :-\ On the bright side, MARRS has four workshops scheduled over the summer, so maybe I'll finally have a chance to wrap it up.

Oh, and the streamliners going and coming on top of the bridge? That's actually "streamliner," singular. One of our members was running a 24-car passenger consist, and it was long enough to meet itself around our end loops. (The hill at the left is across the tracks from Area 53 on my loop.)

Was over at CV over the weekend. First up, handlaid another curved switch into the soon-to-be station area:


While that was going on, i'd occasionally give these wedding-cake columns a coat of paint:


I'll be using them for support columns on the platforms underneath the station itself.


Then i ran some trains:




(please to be ignoring the "trees" and lack of catenary. Those will be rectified within the near future.)

Received by 2 Reading GP-7 bodies from Atlas yesterday.  Now gotta figure which excess PRR equipment gets the makeover.  Painted a brass Northeastern caboose into Reading today. Not switching RR's, just like some Reading now and then.
Switched trucks, couplers and wheels on a couple old Rivirossi heavyweights.  Otherwise spent over 3 hours today eating seafood at a restaurant with the family for Easter.

Speaking of Reading stuff! I recieved a DVD of CR photos from Rich Frey (FMNut from Youtube) with 120 CR photos from the ex-Reading lines.
