PRR K7a Stockcar Build

Still getting over a hard to kill sinus infection so I took a day off and started the build of the first PRR K7a double deck Stockcar. I don't think the photos can show it, but there are 6 different layers to the car sides. A complete side has three overlays that are folded over each other like an accordion. Each overlay has two layers making the six different ones.

I'll post more tomorrow & Saturday. Hope you SPF's like.

Hey, Bob, can you lay off these PRR projects for a while?  ;D I'm retired and living on reduced income, and I can't catch up with you! My N scale cattle are just going to have to wander the range for several more months.

Sweet!  When is it and the H30 coming to market?  I could use the covered hoppers to go with the G26 mill gons.

Three to four weeks. I am making two small artwork revs on each of the H30 / H30a hoppers and one rev on the stockcar.

Sorry David, there are already two more PRR hoppers (H32 and H25) and two PRR gondolas (GRa and G22) in design now. I might even throw in a BM60a.

So if you do a G22 you can do decals for many other RR's

Well, I had a big dinner last night at a gathering of NYSW fans, so maybe I won't have to eat again until May. That should allow me to save up my money.

This is great stuff for us PF's (I'm all slobbered out) and I was thinking about the cattle car and how I would weather it. Is there a manure scent that could be put on the inside before the kit is assembled? Would that be an N scale first?

Bob, that is sooooo nice. Now build one in 1/48th scale so someone can use it to cut a die for a plastic version! Strangely, that is the normal procedure for cutting N-scale cars dies.

A painting question: would it make any sense to clean the entire kit (brass sheets) with acetone (or whatever) before assemby? Or is the benefit of cleaning netralized by the time and process of building the kit?

Even though I am no longer in N scale personally, I really appreciate your efforts!
