Heh, this thread got locked on the A-board...  Nothing controversial in the topic that I could see, and it was introduced by the manufacturer per their rules...  I wonder if the Joizey Boys are feeling a little shamed by their upstart competitor?

Typical ...

ESM made the FATAL mistake of answering questions directly on the forum. Paul has made it very clear in his emails to me that all manf's are to request any/all questions off line so the thread will die quickly and the Atlas products can be to main point of topic once more.

Far as I know, they are RTR.  got 3 on order already.  Can't wait to see what Tom could do to make these grungy, banged up and realistic in service.

Let's put this rumor to rest quickly.  ESM has and has always had an outstanding relationship with Atlas, and Atlas has gone above and beyond on numerous occasions to assist us.  The thread got locked because it was in violation of the picture-posting rules, of which we were unaware.  They were nice enough to lock the thread rather than delete it, as is the standard practice, and send an email notifying us of that fact.  Another thread was started with links to the appropriate sections on the ESM site rather than with the embedded photos.

Not a stupid question.  The model is RTR, but was designed as a "kit" in order to render the detail on the inner walls of the sides.  If the body was designed as a conventional one-piece component, it would have been impossible to have any detail on the inner walls.  The floor/underframe is diecast, all other components are plastic.  The coupler pocket is part of the body and floor/underframe - necessary to have the car sit at the correct height and have the coupler box clear the front axle AND the bottom of the drop ends.

All the major online dealers will have them, plus a large number of conventional hobby shops.
