Worked on some decoders this week...  Busted my band saw blade...More capital overhead when I need it the least...  Oh well.

Did get a couple of MP Pacifics done.


God I miss my camera...

Anyway, I'm modestly impressed with this engine.  The semi streamlining looks like crap, but the straight USRA one looks pretty good.  The drawbar with the wires embedded in it is pretty clever, and dropping in a decoder is a snap.  I can see the Bachmann all wheel pick up being pretty easy to install to improve pick up.

A bit noisy on the road, but they seem to work in after a few minutes.

I know... but it's been 3 years since I used one like this for model shots.  The buttons are pretty cryptic.

Not much for me this week. Work continued, but slowly at the club and hom.

I did buy myself a new camera Friday. Now I have to just keep it hidden from my wife. She broke the last two. >:(

You know it's funny, it's the exact opposite reason that my wife got her latest one in purple... like THAT'S gonna stop me :D

I got a "semi-SLR" Fuji (electronic viewfinder, fixed 18x zoom 27-435mm 35mm equivilent) re-fururbisihed real cheap. The "real" digital SLR's that have the features I want, I won't spend the money on, and no digital camera made at any price is what I call "user-freindly". None of them have convenient manual focus, and none of them have really convenient exposure adjustment, like an instant "back-light" compensation. I like the Leica M-8 the best, and of course, it's not a good close-up camera, even with a Nookey attachment. I'm messing around with the little Fuji seeing what works best with it's limited (f 8) depth of focus. Backing off a good bit then cropping with "Fuji-shop" software looks pretty good at 460x600. Looking at some "bargains" on older slow film scanners that are hitting the market. I can wait 7 minutes for a hi-res scan. Anyway, I've been printing some B&W negatives of the Frisco steamer that came to town several years ago. Sorry, but no digital 11x14" print can touch what I shot with my 645 and Agfa Pan 25 and an orange filter.

Amazing whats happened to Rash Field over the past 60 years! And I didnt know that Federal Hill was below sea level!  ;D

you are correct... hence the need for the sign above my stairs as you decend into the basement "Imagination Station, Milepost #1" :)

i have never seen the harbor look so blue either... more of a slime green these days.. if i recall correctly...
