Back in August 2007, I ordered an IMRC IHB boxcar though FRTS. it was due in March of 2008. For the past several months, each month, IMRC wopuld show it due the following month, i.e. Dec. due Jan., Jan. due Feb., Feb. due March. Now, IMRC has again updated the website and the f**ker is now not due until April!  > > >

I will not punish Chulvis by cancelling the order, but it'll be a cold day in hades before I even considering ordering anything else from IMRC. After all, this isn't a new product, it's the same boxcar that started IMRC in N scale, just new single color printing. WTF??

IMRC started in N with the PFE reefer, no?

I feel for you.  The last IM product I bought was five D&RGW F7s a few years back.  I had some D&RGW corrugated coaches on pre order for two plus years but decided to cancel the pre order when they kept being delayed further.  At this point, IM doesn't have any products I want anyway.  In fact, as other manufacturers have been offering better rolling stock (Trainworx GS Gons, Atlas '32 ARA boxcar, etc.) I've been selling off some of the IM stuff to replace with these.

Part of me thinks that the reason that model railroad manufacturers do this is to "pad their stats" a little with regards to dealing with their funding sources, aka the banker.  I don't think they're pushing due dates just to spite their customers, and I doubt it's as haphazard as many on the forums make it out to be. (myself included)  And it doesn't seem that communicating status about a model helps...people still bitch about it regardless.

I've complained unmercifully about the DI spine cars and they've been in the works for 8 years now.  But honestly there's probably a good reason for it...at least that's what I keep telling myself.

I model Canadian RR's, so until someone else makes a cylindrical covered hopper (that I can afford, not the NARC one) to compete, I'll be buying from Intermountain.

Lock, you're correct. A nice suprise to have something show up that's forgotten. I blame it on my "old age" when I forget.

I do have several IM cylindrical short and long hoppers. I generally snagged them when on sale at my LHS, or they were just there, and the owner said "let's make a deal"

Overall, nice looking units, a few with the various common little issues, but nice cars indeed.

Probably need a few more, but I won't preorder any.

I'm stuck with IM too due to the F-Unit options, the 1937 boxcar, and the 60' flats.  I am done buying decorated models though if I can help it.

Hopefully Atlas will do the 1937 car like they did in O.

Perhaps. Seem to recall that the PFE reefer and the SP, NYC, and GN  boxcars came out around the same time. Bought only the PFE, as it was the only steel reefer available at the time.

I have succesfully ignored Intermountain ever since they called the PRR a "fifth tier railroad".    You know, intelligence will get you ahead a little bit but stupidity will set you back a whole lot.

I'm still waiting for my WM F7B shell ...

IMRC had the shells in November, but it was noted that they were still incorrect (I would assume printing at this point). So they're due in April/May from what I was told by their customer service rep.

But again I'm still waiting.

Im stuck with IM because they are the only ones that make a 60' flat, and four different type of hoppers for my road that are better looking that what everyones else makes.
