NMRA Pacific Coast Region, Coast Division, is fortunate to have Mark Schutzer among
our members.   He did a great clinic in our Coast Division meet last weekend, on
installing DCC in locos, especially in brass locos, have a look:

In case you're thinking, where have I heard this 'Mark Schutzer' name before?   .....

Mark is also well known for award-winning brass locos, which run on DCC as well as

Also, Mark is well known to worldwide NCE DCC users as one of the primary
persons responsible for the NCE DCC Radiocab 1.5 upgrade, which significantly
improved the NCE DCC Radiocab to the level of top performance that it has
today. 

In my humble opinion, while NMRA like any human organization has its 'considerations',
one of the great values of NMRA for me has been providing a venue as
a model railroader to meet many friendly, wonderful other modelers, and I learn
more information about our great hobby in a day than usually
ever learn by myself in a month.

A former early 1900's 65' first class coach, turned into a work service car for line inspection and repair for Canadian Pacific 's Communications dept. The cupola appears to be built of clostary... what a "odd ball"..

I'm using an extended Athearn wooden passsnger car frame; the ends from Bachmann shorty cars; baggage doors made form the combine doors of the Bachmann short cars and the windows form the Athearn coach.... they are too big but are the closest windows I have... It has lead to a probelsm; the car "looks" too short with the windows in, because they are too wide but nevertheless I'm accepting this and moving on...

Here's where we are today.... one side and ends done.

I've been working on a fuel oil business. It's based on a real one in Plainfield, NJ, that I found using Live Search Maps:

Have I mentioned how much of a shame it is you don't have a layout? All this W&LG stuff is so good, it's a real shame it only shows up on white backgrounds...

For myself, I've put in half of my new yard's ladder, and the two pit tracks. Just have to drop a few more feeders and it should be ready.

I also found that my local Home Depot finally has the awesome liquid nails for small projects (in a tube) back in stock!

Thanks Ed , but its you and the other posters that has the nice stuff I envy . I  might find a Charlie Brown tree to include in the shots . I have moved on to the Beaver Logging Company lately . Some new power , and over 100 cars are being painted and decaled . More work than apparent . Loads will be a separate operation down the road .

No modeling for me this week. I have been playing with both Chemicals and Computers so I can show you some goodies very soon. Oh BTW, a PRR K-7 Stockcar is next on etch list. I just finished the artwork.

Not much new for me. Work continues on my coal loader and work at the club on the city scene.

Actually had a set back on the city scene. I was trying to re-use the base that somebody else, no longer with the club, bastardized. After scenicing the embankments, the new surface I glued to the old base peeled up. Started over again yesterday with a whole new base. Will scenic the embankments again this week.

no train stuff for me, I am re-doing the floor in my house with a product called skim stone,,,, and acryilic polyomer based decortive concrete,, man that is alot of work.




  So when the floors are done and painting of the whole interior,, then just maybe I can get back to trains.

Wow, now you can skin your knee without ever going outside! 
I'm working on tidying up an Atlas boxcar I did last summer.  The paint job turned out nicely, but the thick details have been wearing on me. 
Adding GMM roofwalk and stirrups.  No photos yet, for obvious reasons...

Seems the only time I post to W/e Update is when the layout is standing on end.  Moved it from the apartment to the townhouse on today.  Slightly larger space sq ft wise but it will not take a 6x10 footprint.  We'll see what come next.  Also spent Saturday running the Central Carolina Southbound with JustTrainCrazy and his crew.  A LOT of fun!  Great bunch of guys.
