A few years ago, a friend had some Osgood Bradley AF car sides lasered in acryllic to fit core car kits. They worked quite well and, I'm sure etched brass sides would/could be a viable alternative to waiting for someone to do the whole cars in N.

Model railroading isn't saving my life, but it's providing me moments of joy not normally associated with my current situation..... Train are good!

I have drawings for this set done, just never have dove deep enough into photo etching to finish them. I have also considered using my vinyl cutter to cut the sides out of styrene. I did one test side using two layers to represent the window gaskets. Not bad for a test but it could be better.

Tony, I do have the Key Cincinnatian set myself. Where those actually heavyweights or streamlined?

IIRC, the Cincinnatian was heavyweight cars shopped to look streamlined.

As N&W said, they were stream-styled heavyweights. They had full diaphrams added and really only worked well as a set. There are pictures of the cars in other trains later, after they were broken up, and the height difference over a streamlined car is very noticable.

The Key cars are very heavy and don't roll all that well from what I understand. Also on the Key set, the full diaphragms are just there for looks. I have drawings of an attempt to make them work. The cars will magnetically couple through the diaphram. It's one of those ongoing projects that never seems to move forward, just like the P7D to pull them.

Bob,
Whatever happened to them getting into N scale? I think they were supposed to do a butterdish milk car first.
Just got off the phone with Steve as he is driving back from the Atlanta show. F&C will be releasing the Butterdish Milk car this year. They will also have a few boxcars. D&H for sure, was not sure of the other roads as it was a so-so connection before I totally lost him.

I talked to him at the Atlanta show. I can't remember all the boxcar roadnames but did say C&O too. I can live with that. Also said the carbodies would be one piece.
