After a couple of emails I just got a reply from them today saying the following:

"We are in the process of finalizing our dealer package and expect to have it complete in the very near future. We appreciate your patience as we work through this and are excited to provide you with the products your customers have been asking for."

No other details were included.

I got a similar message along with this oh so helpful tip: shipping on orders over $50 is free. Despite the fact that I stated in direct terms that I was only interested in one item.

I got my order in today.  The Vert-A-Pac is a nice car with very basic details.  The one thing I did notice is the truck mounted couplers interfere with some of the end detail and don't swing freely to the sides.  The boxcar has a little better detail but it's still all molded.

The new models are nice to have but I'm not sure they are worth price.  But if they are willing to do the Vert-A-Pac, maybe more specialized cars will come.

And if they were to do a 85' flatcar I certainly wouldn't kick them out of bed for eating crackers.

Might want to compare the costs and details of the IM version first... both models represent the later 8-panel 5161s.

We'll see. Will be interesting to see just how "bleed" the market is when they get around to selling to dealers. Could be a deal breaker. This is supposed to be a partnership after all.

Yeah, when do you compare them head to head there is a big difference in detail. IM it is. But then again I should be spending money on lumber and track not freight cars right now :

While I agree 100% with you on those...they can be easily corrected in a matter of minutes. Its the tooling details and roofwalks that do it for me.

From a post by Glenn Poole on the A-forum, they're using the same trucks Athearn had tooled (Athearn replaced the SDK trucks they originally used with another manufacturers trucks)... they don't roll worth a crap though... so either way you're replacing trucks or wheelsets.

I'm trying to locate massive quantities of the underslung Accymate trucks from Atlas to replace all the MTL trucks on my hobbers, gondolas and other "heavy" cars.

The ladders on the ER car dosen't look to bad compaired to the IM car. The IM car has the metal roofwalks and a price advantange... so they get my vote (and some Accumate 100T trucks).

Man I am so screwed if MTL ever comes out with real 100T trucks.
