If they are going to do a Trinity Hopper, why in gods name would they do one that is already out there?

On the other hand 6351's might be painful to the wallet. A large 4 bay that is NOT an ACF car would be nice.

Mmm. LBF did an HO 5161 and they were supposed to release a 5161, and now another one is coming out.....................

They would've been better off to release the larger versions, but then if some of the legwork had already been done for them............

I will need tons of those PCF cars. They showed up all over the place here, I think they carried either lumber or paper products.

Did anyone else notice the screw-in bogies on the 5161's?

For those of you who have ordered, what are the payment options?  I don't need and probably won't order anything, but I have some PayPal funny money sitting and thought I might get one of the boxcars and pondering a 3-pack of the 5161's to see how they compare. 

While I wasn't asking for more 5161's, if they're nice I guess I'll give 'em a shot.  Wish they'd done the 12-panel, at least that would have been something of remote interest.  I agree a pretty peculiar choice given a pretty strong list of alternatives.  Other thing is, I'm curious if they will be discounting...$20/car when the IM's are available for $5 less and appear to be nicer models?  Am I missing something?  At least the photos online look better...the photos in MR looked very Trainman-like in appearance with the end platforms and such.

To my eye, the hoppers don't cut it, at the same or more than the IM offerings.

*The roofwalk supports are molded on the ER vs. etched on the IM's.
 (The roofwalk may be molded also, can't really tell but they look thick)

*Accumate trucks (not McHenry couplers) vs. MT trucks and couplers.

*The details just look heavy.

I hope this doesn't turn into...nobody buys N scale so we are not continuing with it...because I see no reason to buy the hoppers for $6 less than full retail on the IM's.

The other offerings are new and unique so without anything to compare them too, they will probably hold their own. I see a future blowout sale on hoppers coming up though.

But in this case, which truck is correct?

I know little about modern cars, but aren't these hoppers suppose to have 36" wheels which MT doesn't make?  And even if you put a 36" wheel into a MT truck, is the axle spacing right?

Are they using their own trucks and couplers or are those Atlas crap-u-mates?

The couplers are Accumates. McHenry's are not being offered for sale to other N scale manufacturer's at the moment. The trucks are probably their own design.

I'm not thrilled with the 5161's. That would be a poor choice unless they could tool it cheap or bought the tooling cheap, which makes me think that could be originally LBF tooling they got from Hubert's. But the boxcar and verti-packs look reasonably good. Don't really want the cars but not because I have issues with the company or products.

I hope they will come out with more 60's and 70's era boxcars ect. The boxcars look good to me. Just hate the couplers.

I really don't get the accu-hate, I know the first batch had some troubles, but in 5 years now of NTRAKing with them, I've had absolutely no problems attributable to the couplers.
