For those in the know... Are they using McHenry couplers on the HO cars?

My guess is that they are using McHenry couplers, but I don't have my cars yet and it's not clear to me from the photos.

So the Atlas HO board is raving about this Chris Clune guy; the brains behind ExactRail.  Apparently, he is the genius tooler behind a lot of amazing releases from Athearn and Tangent over the years.

And Branchline including the heavyweight passenger cars...  He's had his fair share of tooling errors over the years but has only been getting better.

Mike: Branchline is releasing N scale heavyweights.....? Really........tell us more......
Model railroading isn't saving my life, but it's providing me moments of joy not normally associated with my current situation..... Train are good!

Chris Clune was the tool maker for the HO heavyweights.

I'd look at the Athearn Auto-Max and Coalporter to get an idea on his N scale capabilities...

Assuming whatever price point Athearn was shooting for on those particular models.

What he may or may not be capable of remains to be seen. :)

Because he's just now becoming a part of the retail end of the market...  Do you usually hear about the toolmakers behind the models?  Have you heard of others like Jimmy Booth, or the late Joel Buerling?  Or the father-son team at Intermountain?  What about the Chinese engineers at Sanda Kan and AFFA, like Sun Yau or KK?

Well, that's kinda my point...no one ever talks about the tool makers until now.  So Chris is the first one to "come out"?

I used to know a Chris Clune, but he was the Regional Safety Administrator for the Federal Railroad Administration in Atlanta, GA. It's not that common a name, so I wonder if there's a relationship?

And don't forget Avdyl Šintič  and Melhior Korenčič, the "Paul and Cory" of Mehano in Bratislava.
