Yes, they're a viable distributor. I don't remember the details, but they're definitely a distributor.

If I recall, the retail store back in Baltimore had only a small sliver of what they had "upstairs" in their distributor stocks.  Not sure about the new location and how they are set up.  Guess I'll find out when I visit Aberdeen Proving Grounds in May and make a trip to see the new digs before I leave for home.

Glad to see they are carrying TrainCat stuff. There are a bunch of items I want to try.

Glad to see TrainCat's stuff may finally be available to a broader audience.  Would love to get some of the signal kits at some point.

Several of the larger shops have functioned as "distributors" over the years.  Bobbye Hall's in Dallas did in the later years before they closed.  Granted, Hall's was also a brass importer as well...so I guess the lines get blurred.  Bottom line is, the bottom line...you get better pricing the more you buy and being a distributor back in the day was the equivalent of having a high volume web presence today.  I doubt it would be possible to start in the industry today as a "micro-distributor" and truly be able to function as such with Horizon and Walthers calling the shots.

Thanks guys.

Shane and I are still discussing extra discounts for quantities and carrying the complete line, so they have not placed the order yet. Several other shops are now looking over the dealer terms.

Bob (Traincat) was supposed to drop off their initial order on the way up to the National Train Show in Hartford, but couldn't arrange a drop-off with them.  My understanding was that he was going to drop off the order on his way back south, but maybe that didn't happen either.

Tim,

Shane changed his order the day I was leaving and a few items were BOed. Shane also could not meet with me on the way up, Mon is his day off, so the order has been shipped to him. He should have it by today.

Jeff, I delivered over 750 items to TNR on Saturday to fill all of his backorders. Yours was part of it. Email Brad for an update.

None that I know of ...

Shane sent me an email acknowledging receipt of the order a few days ago. Suggest you contact Shane.

Bob,

Was my chip loader in the stuff you dropped off for Shane? I stopped by Thursday and they still didn't have the stuff out on the floor or in the computer, so I couldn't buy anything.  >:(

Failing to prepare is preparing to fail.
