For me, I got 3 C40-8s from Chuck, and I also roughed in the first layer of ground cover on another 8 feet of layout.

Just great, I get to follow Tom.  Well, anyway, after seeing that beautiful work and, while my stuff isn't worthy, on my layout, I received twelve (12) Red Caboose 62' insulated box cars in the orange Tropicana scheme.  All the cars have had body-mounted couplers (which allowed me to close the humongous gap between the cars) and Fox Valley wheelsets installed.  The Juice Train cometh!

Dave, somewhere in my vast piles of crap, I have a promotional cassette tape issued by Seaboard System featuring Johnny Cash singing (saying?) the Orange Blossom Special, plus some other railroady favorites...  If I can root it up by the 15th, we can put it on the Victrola...

End handrails are on order. I used the frame from an Atlas VO-1000, and cut up the shell of a Bachmann H-16-44. Some Gold Medal brass walkboards make up the sanding platforms, and there's a Micro Trains brake wheel. I improvised the headlight housing out of a MT bolster and some bits of styrene. MicroScale decals. Not quite finished, but close!

The WM was one of the early experimenters with slugs.  They home built two "trailing units" as they called them, to assist switchers in the hump yards at Hagerstown, as early as 1962.  At the end of the WM era, 138-T was mated to BL-2 81, and this pair continued to work the yards in Hagerstown until they were downgraded in the early 1980's.  In 1985 or so, they were sent to the B&O museum together to be mothballed for posterity.

My slug is unpowered (the low profile of the hood disallows keeping the drive intact) but it does serve a useful purpose.  I hardwired it to 81, to add some additional pick up, which will help avoid a couple of pesky stalls over the ancient turnouts I used in my temporary yard.  I added some weight to it to help it track better.  So far, I'd say it works pretty well.

I'm hoping to have the body work done by the ops session in two weeks.

Got the ME girders installed on my "metal rod" and little ground cover put down.

Chuck's fast shipment on the ATSF Blufords that I ordered came right by me, along with Lou's GP40-2.



I better get back to work before Chuck's next shipment comes by ;D

let's see...  dropped more than i wanted to at the train show...

picked up the L&HR Alco C-420 - it's darker grey version    did see the correct color but it was $109!!!!!!! 
not sure what decoder to put in it though.

Decaled three chipcars I painted up last winter.  Choped the coupler boxes off the Unimates that came on the InterMountain cars and body mounted the couplers also. They had plastic lo pro wheels on them so I left them for on for now.
