Programming a TF-4

I tried wiring a TF-4 function decoder into my new slug for the purpose of operating the headlight as a directional, but I couldn't get it to read back an address so I could program it.

I took this thing out of the package eons ago, so I don't have a manual for this...  I suppose I could look it up with some internets, but I was wondering if anyone knew the trick to this?

Lee,
 Best bet is to just program a new address. You need a load on the white and /or yellow wire to read or write.

I tried that.  Wired it into my test rig (complete with motor and front/back LED's) and even after that it wouldn't respond to an address.

Guess I'll look up the manual on line and see if there's any tricks I've missed.
