Hey Chuck! I turned a couple of customers on to you for some NW railroads(NP, SP&S, WP) stuff, so don't be surprised! The "other alternitives" were some dealers we all know and may dislike who sometimes sell above MSRP.

Well... Time to put in another order.

When it's all said and done, I'm gonna have entirely too many of these to ever really use on any layout I could likely every build.  I'm quickly heading towards 20.  Not to mention all the 60-footers, Autoracks, and Auto-Maxes.

Oh well. :)

I can say I'm not entirely upset about those NYC patch jobs, since they'll allow my wallet a little bit of recovery time.

Also interesting to see them do that particular NS scheme, since there were only 8 in grey...

Fairly unique scheme... used systemwide (Ford pool)... sounds like a winner to me.  Heck, I've seen 487454 several hundred times over the last 7 years or so... if not more (though of no use to me, since I model N&W)

We used to see the gray ones once in awhile when e had the Ford plant in Hapeville. The CR car with the CSX replacement door is interesting also and they will also have a car with a gray replacement door.

(sigh of relief) - all out of my era.

Still bracing for the Trainworx ones in two N&W schemes (as well as a few era appropo Blufords).

I'm only hoping the Trainworx cars are near as nice as the Bluford Shops cars. Before the Trainworx get here, I could end up with a sizeable fleet of 86 footers already.

Same here.

Chuck, the ATSF cars arrived safely. Wow, fast shipping, and these cars look NICE. Got them on the rails right now. No tweeking on them, and they are running well! One car has just a little wobble" that I'll check into later.............I'm having too much fun watching them right now.

Thanks again

There was a pre-production model up at Springfield on the Deluxe Innovations table (why, I do not know). They had it next to a Bluford car, and it looks like the Trainworx is even nicer. The model on hand had separate etched end ladders and wire grabs. I got a few pics, but they didn't turn out as well as I had wanted.

But they're different prototypes, so you should buy from both manufacturers. :-D

Cool. Maybe we'll see the Trainworx Thralls in a month or two.

Meanwhile, the third batch of the Blufords is in stock at MBK (I just ordered the C&O):

The Trainworx sample I saw at Trainfest semd pretty nice. They do have MTL extended truck mounted couplers. I thought it looked like it would ride higher than the Bluford Car, but it is a different prototype.

In case anyone wants to weather a grey one. Here's one (487323) in Berea in September of 2007. Looks like it had some tagging painted out recently.

Chuck, the NS's arrived safely, and look great. Putting some miles on them right now.

These things are sweet, thanks.
