Just to torture you some more, here's what an AZL coupler looks like in N scale...



Compare to the 905:



One problem, aside from not being available on their own: there's no hole in the AZL coupler pocket, as on M-Ts, so they'd have to be glued to the frame (or some other means of attachment devised).

That's the older style. But from what I can tell, the new ones aren't much different. The older ones could function, but they were very stiff. I think all they did was change how they were sprung.

AZL does make a body mounted coupler. The couplers on the Surfliners  and snowplows are body mounted.

I like that  clean up the part lines and It'll be a half decent looking coupler...
