Jeebus - more (what is this? 3rd run?) N&W offsets? Thanks for giving us more of what amounted to less than 1% of the post-merger (1964) fleet (these are ex-NKP repaints - most of these were never repainted in reality).

"GATC 2600 Airslide Covered Hopper"

Oh please tell me that's not the exact same car that Atlas already makes.

I hope the UP ones are the O/S braced offsets like this , but I don't think it will . UP didn't have smooth ones that I have seen .

Don't think so Jason.

EDIT

Looking at some Colr Guides, it just might be one and the same car. Unfortunatly, I don't have an Atlas model close at hand.

Maybe they are doing the Airslide version that has the angles at the ends.  That would be different.  There is some PRR/PC/CR potential (H40), so I would be happy.  I guess we will have to wait for artwork photos to be sure.

Nope, they're not.

They were quiet about it, but they had prototypes of these AND new SP proto bay window cabooses at the WGH show back in Philly.

These cars have sloped ends, not the vertical ones that the Atlas car does. I know someone's done these in HO before. I think it was Walthers, ironically.

Ed,

You wouldn't happen to know where the PC's originated? I think the Pennsy H40 is a straight end.

Anyone have a pic?  the RP CYC 17 doesn't have anything on it and my Rock Island color book only had air slides with triangle bracing on the ends not slopes.

Is this the car?

If so, then yeah, the ends aren't sloped, they're just braced.

C'mon, that Atlas model is due for an improvement... I'm tired of sanding down roofs on mine.   :D

That's the one. I think I saw a square sided one too.

And yeah, SP bay window cabooses. I wish I remembered the class, but with Bob's luck, it'll be the one TrainCat is doing...

Athearn is quickly becoming my favorite provider. Their trailers are the best out there and the new Z-Vans make the MTL trailers look like old Arnold models.

The cool thing about Athearm's new releases is that they do multiple phases. While Atlas has done that for a while, they are pretty much the only ones who do.
There's a shyness found in reason

You seem to feel abysmal take it
Then you're careful grace for sure
Kinda like the way you're breathing
Kinda like the way you keep looking away

Well the artwork is up at Athearn.  We seem to have a problem. It is the same as Atlas'.

It does explain the 'early GACX' scheme though.
