Most all has been discussed but I did get a few shots.

Here are some shots of the 44 tonner and Athearns bus.

Please correct me if I am wrong.

At Springfield, I asked an Athearn rep if they would be re-releasing the old Roundhouse 50' waffle side boxcars. He told me there was no such real prototype for that car and they wouldn't be doing it.

When I was going in and later out of the show, there was a CSX 50' waffle side boxcar right there in the yard. Is not the Round house car the same type car that CSX and its predecessors have/had?

Prototype or not, the Roundhouse Waffle is the only 50' Waffle I know of and it is at least a representative car. I see ton's of CSX 50' Waffles in about 4-5 different stamping variations every day. The Huberts cars are now a dead issue and they were hi-cubes anyhow. I don't ask for all the versions, just something that at least comes close to the cars. Somebody ought to do it if Athearn is going to set on the tooling.

Sounds like a job for the Fox Valley Models man. Personally though, I'd much rather see a PS4427-2CD High Side.

And you didn't think to look around for someone's Color Guide to Freight and Passenger Cars so that you could stick his nose in it... your slipping.

Did anyone grab photos or have a good look at the MTL February releases?

I'd like to know
a) if the SP Golden Pig trailer is 40' or 45' in length?
b) what the reporting mark is on the 89' flat and the scheme/length on the Transamerica trailer...

I think I'll scream if the flat has the TTX logo and a TTX reporting mark like all previous releases have. Hopefully the trailers are 45' long too...

Thanks!

Correct me if I'm wrong, but the MTL flats can only fit a 40 and a 45 - at least the way they used to be tooled - without modification...

Actually I found a dealer selling the said car in kit form and I thought to run over with it and do just that, but he wanted $10 for it. ::)

Besides, when it comes to people who are so damn sure of themselves, even with proof to the contrary, they will most of the time find another reason to prove themselves right. Then I either get locked up or walk away mad, not worth it anymore. >:(

Sounds like someone got up close and personal with John Engstrom. His bark is worse than his bite. He's an alright guy usually.

SP pig trailer is 45' and has the Olympic logo and Golden Pig logo....

89' Flat is TTX with TTX logo and has a 45' Single Transamerica trailer (simular to one of the S&R Models Special Run)
