That's a smooth looking loco there!!! I had thought about looking at the 2-8-8-2 (I have one - LL/ Walthers). I'll be going a bit of a cheaper route with the mechanism, at worst case I can use a Bull Ant with the Steam Drivers. The boiler is going to be scratch built as is the cab and tender (turtle back).
- I was also thinking of getting custom made 57" drivers.
A tender drive is my backup plan, I have some Fleischmann Steamers that run nicely with tender drive.
