Steve, should there be a question mark after that or you know for sure? I thought about that but it's locale and the fact that it's a full size passenger car and not a Metro sized one, and it doesn't have 3 sets of 'double' sliding doors on each side of the car like the WMATA cars, I am not so sure.

You tell me Steve?

I am Steve.

New Jersey Transit donated a retired Comet I commuter rail car built by Pullman Standard for the Simulator with 3 and 2 seating arrangement.

So I was right about what type of car it was, just not from where.

I still think it's curious they would use a car with only 4 exits (two on each end) to train for exits in a car with 6 doors (the WMATA cars)

Oh, and nice dodge, Steve.

either you trust that i am a valid source of information or you don't.  why does it take 5 people to give the same answer before someone believes the answer is valid.  i'm not going to waste my time validating my answers.  do you need a second opinion if someone tells you hemlock is deadly if consumed?

Being an ex-employee of MTH doesn't exactly make you the go-to-guy for information. And that's all I know of you at this juncture. If you do the math, at the point my question was asked only one person, you, had answered without phrasing it as a question. It's not like I was asking for footnotes or using a challenging tone, so the civil courtesy would have still prevailed at that point to answer my question, which was followed with a valid point of probability.

i don't actually like to bring that up - i really hate seeing the s*** i was forced to do and for which people pay incredible sums - it's heartbreaking, no really.

i'm tired of being second guessed all the time, i get it everywhere - my experiences don't mesh with other's my age, so i guess many people don't believe me as a result.  constantly being second guessed takes a toll and right now, i'm being careful with my responses to keep from saying something unpleasant.

the reason i know what he car was for is simple, i have a buddy in the know at the FRA.

Helpful hint... You should have made it clear that you had a reliable source for the information at the outset, which would have made your response look a lot less abrupt, and would have completely eliminated the need for any second guessing on anyone's part.  As it is, we're just finding out about it now, after two pages of "who shot John?"...

I'm plenty guilty of the same thing sometimes, so I can appreciate your point, but it's really helpful if you put all your cards on the table.

i have no clue what that means - am i not the go to guy because i no longer work there or because i worked there.   never mind i have been a serious train nut since i was 10 as member of an excellent railfan group (RRE).  i wonder if Herb Harwood would have to show his cards if he were on this list.

Well there's a difference between coming across like a resourceful guy with a good network or a self-proclaimed Know-It-All.  Unfortunately the nature of these fora makes it difficult for the average viewer to know the difference, unless the poster makes a concerted effort to define himself.

It's taken me a long time, and a couple of brawls with some very good people, to figure that out.
