Take a ride on the Reading - 1970.

Shot from a scheduled Reading train from Philadelphia to Reading and return, one fine 1970 fall day:

From the old country, Gracie finally gets in some railfanning.  She said this train clipped through Duren at full speed, and she nearly lost it...  She told me that her original plan was to hang around the station all day and take train pictures for me, but this is the only one I've gotten so far.  I think she probably bailed after this one, a faint reminder of how I used to terrify her by taking her to the Edgewood MARC station when she was tiny.  She HATED those AEM-7's flashing by at 100 mph!

I'm heading up to Newark on Monday to pick her up.  Her flight comes in at 2, so I'm going to try to leave a little early to take in a train or two, if I can.
