About 80% complete:  a little more decal touch up and clean up is needed, but I wanted to be the first to post a model of this boxcar.

No weathering on this model yet: it feels good to have a weathering free chat for a change!

Ok, to be serious:

I saw the car on Saturday.  I knew it had to be done, and I wanted to be the first, so I bumped it up to the top of my list.  On Sunday, I went to my stock of freight cars, found an Evans car that I got at a train show for $10, and painted the yellow and grey.  This took about an hour, due to the time spent stripping the lettering off and masking.  During Monday and Tuesday, I thought about how to do the decals.  This involved deciding if the black stripe would be painted or not, and what technique to get the white lettering looking white.  Wednesday night, I made the decals in HO and N scale, printed them out, and sealed them (1.5 hours).  At this time, I sprayed the car with Future to create a glossy surface.  After the decals and the car dried (about an hour), I applied them and took the photo (.5 hour).   I worked a little bit last night getting the decal to bend around the door detail and painted the wheels, trucks, and underframe (.5 hour).

So 3.5 hours total, spread over 3 nights, all after 9pm (when the baby is safely asleep).

And that's one that you can.  If you can zoom in and the artwork redraws crisp again, than it's vector.  I was going to supply Tom with it but he was working too hastily to keep up as it needs to be sized and possibly color separated to do a good job.
