What have you done.

I completed some scenery rough in, and am now in the process of carving rocks ..

Roco 31 foot fish-belly foreign flat Americanized somewhat with Rivrarossi motor with a Atlas cannister butt .

Very nice job, Richie. Would look more prototypical if you ran fine wire from the outside stake pockets through the holes on the brackets on each end. Right now the load might bounce off a derailed car.

I tried out the fading technique but just used some distilled water and dish soap with the paint and started getting
good results before I had to shut it down for the night.  You can see the original color on the ends and roof better
than the door.  The car is sitting on some Atlas TruTrack that I tried painting with some real cheap craft paint -
like from the grocery store.  I missed some spots, but all-in-all, I like it better than the stock color.  Next time
I'd try a little better paint and a little lighter color



And another Atlas parts shipment spells doom for any current projects as I got started on this and just kept going. 
Actually I have made progress on the VO1000m, just nothing worth posting.  The nose was chopped and a section of an
SD26 cab was spliced in.  It'll be either ex-MStL 300 or 301.  I think 300 saw more action but the 301 had a Hancock
air horn added and I have like 12 packages waiting for an SW1500 so I might as well use them on something. Also, one
has class lights like the GP7/9s and the other like the later low nose models like the GP40.  Either way they'll
probably need to be scratch built.




And the 1932 ARA cars are in. They look great.  It's a shame I have to change the door, and cut off the ends and roof
(unless I can live with 11 panels instead of 12).  C'mon Atlas, at least do the 7/8 ends, you have the tooling and the
SOO had the 12 panel roofs and everybody likes the SOO.  Anyways, they have separate ladders and tack boards and
couple together with a gap that needs a pole vault to get across.

The final touches for the Cape Breton - window frame dividers have been applied and the marker lights were applied... so much for that project !





Started work on a Great Northern Duplex sleeper - lounge (either the Winnipeg Club or the manitoba Club; not sure which yet. ) Doing her in Big Sky Blue (don't know if she ever was repained but it's "my world"...)

So far...........

Haven't accomplished much this week, what with keeping on top of 100+ auctions.

I did start tinkering with Chris' T Gauge RDC. Got this far, then recommended some improvements for the pilot parts.



I also finally got to work on the last of the rock castings for the Z scale layout. Here I'm cutting the molds to fit and making supports from layers of Foamcore.



Unfortunately I suffered a serious setback, as I dropped the passenger station and it smashed into over a dozen pieces. That's some time to spend I hadn't counted on having to do...

I've been working on this resin shell. I added all the roof ribbing and details to match my Railway Classics cars. Got it painted this week. Still need to add some grabirons, window glass and interior but it's starting to look like a Skytop Lounge. I couldn't resist pulling it around the layout even though it's still not finished.

Very nice work on the skytop lounge - is that a Jim Stillman casting ? I've done a CN Skyview lounge sleeper of his ( Creek series) and they are nice shells.

I put a team track on the Z scale layout ,and got most of the scenery done on it (the teamtrack not the layout).Have some pics in the Z forum.

I also won one of David's auctions. ;D Hey Dave got MMM trucks in Z scale up for auction?

I've been at trucking school for the last week. Are there any good hobby shops in Richmond? I looked up a couple, but nothing good. Went to one place in Midlothian, and it really sucked. Stock spread all over the store and full price to boot.

Wanting something a little "different" for local color, I remembered seeing a pickle car in an old Carstens rolling stock book.  I decided this was diffent enough.  Frame from an old Pre-Tichy bunk car.  The rest is scratched and while I tried to follow the author's methods, he did his in HO so, I had to free-style it a little.  Here's the Sauer Pickle Company's SPX-2!

Thanks Gregg , point noted , but those brackets are thin etchings . I may add some wires to other points though .

David , that looks more like a disassembly than a smash , crack , bust , and bend disaster . Shouldn't be that hard to put back together .

Puddington , Those markers really set it off nicely .

skytop35 , What can I say , not unlike Chris , only amazing things meet your camera lens . I need one of those magic cameras !

Your win is all packed and will be in the post Monday AM. I'll check to see if I have any surplus MMM in Z. I don't have much, that I know...

That's what it looks like, anyway. But some of the parts got warped, and one corner of the roof took the worst of it. Straightening out the kinks will damage the finish. Not sure how I'm going to handle touch-up. It sure isn't going to be able to handle macro photography the way it used to.
