There is a thread on the Trainboard about busses . Looks like Walthers is going to do city busses in N similar to the Wheels Of Time ones . This is terrific news . http://pwrs.ca/announcements/view.php?ID=976

the CMW GMC TD 3610 Transit Bus has been discussed recently in certain forums (not sure if it was here):

It was ion the iHobby thread, but it's worth repeating. So now we apparently have 3 Busses coming in N. Here is a link to the orders for the CMW Bus for those interested.

True. My understanding is that the WOT bus will be based on a Mack bus.

Don't know
the make/model or anything.  But, what I really want is that classic city bus from the movie SPEED.  Sandra Bullock figure optional but highly desireable...

That's a GMC from the late 60's early 70's with the "fishbowl" windshield and the forward slanting side windows, right?

They were classics,... as buses go, anyway...

Way off Lee:

You must be thinking of the 4519:

or 4501:

(I don't really know much about buses except that I hate riding them)

Yeah, great... ::)  Three friggin' manufacturers doing transition era buses.  If they were smart, one of them would do a modern bus instead.

A company called Pirate Models (I think) made a modern city bus more than a decade ago (maybe way more).

Thank you. Didn't know they were still in business. And going strong, looks like. Wonder why they don't get any press. Then, Ultimate N scale has been making a bus for years, and nobody seems to know.

I have the Pirate Models 1981 Grumman/Flxible 870 bus, and as far as I can tell it is either 1:148 or even 1:144 scale.  It measures over 9 feet wide with a 1:160 scale ruler.   :(

I didn't bother getting any of the others for fear that they would also be oversize.

Should have been clear... I was referring to the SPEED prototype.  I'm sure I was distracted by the mention of Sandra Bullock's figure... ;D

TThe 870 was 102" wide(8 &1/2 ft) so it maybe closer than you think. :-)
