This is going back a ways, but I vaguely recall a yellow primer for use on cast metal or brass models. I had a Mantua 0-6-0 that I used this stuff on--again, IIRC.

Yeah David, that probably was yellow zinc chromate primer. The military uses green and yellow zinc chromate primers on the inside of all aluminum aircraft to prevent corroission, and on lots of other things too. It's a no-no on consumer products now. If you chewed on a semi door, it could poision you, like the lead paint on the old Lionel and Marx Bros. toy trains and Tonka Trucks. Silliness abounds today. ::)

Yup, that green primer was on the inside of  every US Army tracked vehicle.
