Has the rumor of Peco updating their C55 line to something similar to Atlas been put to the rest officially?

Is this the rumor about a north american tie spacing?

As much of a pain as I have had with Atlas Code 55 (fragility), it's balanced by the pain I had with Peco Code 55 (insulating turnouts)...

Switching to cork roadbed has helped though, as Lee and others suggested.

Does that code 55 also expand?
