Time for some stock (rolling stock, that is) speculation. IHobby next week.

The IHobby Show will be held at Rosemont, IL, from October 16 through October 19, 2008. Both the Atlas and Bachmann websites show they will attend. Some manufacturers and importers like to announce new products at this show.

First, do any of you wish to speculate on what might be announced in N scale at the show?

Second, who plans to attend and bring a digital camera, taking some photos to share with the rest of us of what new items are on display?

Now don't all rush to get in line, hear??  ;D

I really think that given the current economic situation we'd be lucky to see too many new products that haven't already been either hinted at; previewed or pre-announced.

That said; re-runs of existing tooling will most likely prevail for the next little while to reduce capital costs.

But; I have to agree with Steve; I'd walk a long way for a C636 (to bash into a M636 of course).... but I think we're likely to see many other items before that beastie....... pity.

Seriously, IHobby is more of a general hobby show and I don't expect a spate of new announcements. I DO expect a few for Trainfest 3 weeks after IHobby, but the current economic situation will temper the season quite a bit.

I believe the Kato release was scheduled to be in support of the IHobby as they are pretty involved with the show. We might see pre-production sample of the SD70ACE and the Milwaukee NW2.

Horizon and Walthers are also big supporters of IHobby, but I expect nothing new in N from Athearn that we haven't already heard about. Walthers might show a n ew N scale product or two at either IHobby or Trainfest, but not both.

MAYBE MTL will have at least artwork for the new HW cars.

Bachmann has made announcements at iHobby in the past, but maybe they spilled all their beans at the national this year.

Kato will continue to deny that NS exists.

Well, they were asking about a bunch of projects awhile ago, but all the dealer surveys have pretty much quit coming. It might be quite awhile b4 we see anything new in n from them......including structures. I sure hope i'm wrong though, some of the rolling stock they were asking about was pretty cool.

I've been to three or four iHobby shows now and have never found them to be great for train announcements. 
This year I am going to Trainfest for the first time. Really looking forward to this. Anyone else here going? Let's party!

I'll be there Chuck. Looks to be a good time based on what some are saying. I definately say that if there are any really good announcements, that is where they will come, but I don;t completely discount IHobby due to some of the manufacturers who are behind it.

IHobby is also interesting for some of the non-traditional suppliers. I like to peruse some of the non-train manufacturers. You usually can find something that fits in with trains pretty well.
