Good day,
I installed a digitrax decoder in my Atlas GP38; #850, light board replacement.
When I load it and turn the throttle knob on the DT400 to 1, the engine takes off at a quick pace. I put my factory decoder GP38; #855 on the passing siding along side and measured the speed. To get to the same speed I turned the throttle on engine #855 to 35 to match the speed of engine #850 on throttle position 1.
When I turn the throttle up into the 40's + it starts gaining more speed, but when I get down below say 40 or so on the display, it retains a constant speed until I get to 0, and it shuts down.
Could this be a problem with the CV speed recognition? Or possibly a bad decoder?
I don't know how to program CV values...so if someone is experienced with it and can walk me through some possible solutions, I'd be obliged.
