Seeking some laser decal wisdom

I have been producing, somewhat successfully decals for my n scale efforts on a very high end laser output device we have at work. I have complete process control over colour, I can feed in PMS or other colour formula and have a very close output on laser decal paper. I can hold 2 pt fonts such as Engraver ( closest to CPR font) as well as serif style fonts.... except in yellow.

No matter what I do and what colour mix I try and use the yellow comes out too opaque... translation... invisible......... short of buying a small screen press I'm at wits end.....

Anyone have any ideas how to get small font yellow decals ( think car names etc...) to print and be seen......?

You mean translucent...opaque is what you want.

If this is a laser printer, you won't get opaque yellow (or orange, white or any other light color when applied over a dark surface).  You can try printing on white decal paper and color around the yellow with the car color.

I'm in the same vat.  I want to do some yellow lettering for WM diesel decals, and some gold/buff for passenger cars.  I'm wondering if you got an ALPS print in white, then do the same art in your translucent yellow on the lazer, and just use two layers of decals...???  Tom's suggestion would work if you can precisely match the car color, and if you're off by a wee bit, some weathering could blend it in.

It's either that, or we sit by the phone waiting for Micro Scale to call to let us know they're doing what we need...

Hmm, as an aside,  I've been thinking about making some black decals using my laser. Does this generally work?

Whose decal paper does "everyone" use?
