I didn't get much done this week, but finally got all the parts together for my Amtrak Cascades and hit the F40PH with a bit of primer to check my work.  Sorry for the lousy quality, but I couldn't wait to see it finally assembled (it's almost 4' long - and I'm still missing a coach from the 13-car consist).

Here is a slightly better closeup.

I'm working on carving the fins now from plastruct stock, as well as more putty/sanding/primer on the NPCU.  Hopefully will post closeups next weekend.

Great job all around , thats the best decal application I have seen yet on those . I have 2 or 3 myself to finish someday . What is the exact color you used ?

Bachmann announced a On30 railbus based on one of my favorites. Looks like about $140 for it  :o So why not try one in N scale.

It will be battery powered and is about 2" long.

My theme music:

So what exact planet do you really come from Chris . A one man show that repeatedly pumps out finer detailed stuff , using every known modeling practice that one could only wish a big business manufacturer would do , but they wind up being pikers next to you . You da man .

John-

No, they are the coaches made by Electrotren of Spain, imported by ER Models, most-likely blown-out in clearance by Walthers, and bought at a premium by me, thanks to the magic of eBay.  To get the 12 units I wanted I ended up picking up 2 six car sets plus two add-on cars (the bar and lounge).

Lovely little units though the wheels need to be turned down to run on code 55 track.  I'm so insane I'm tempted to hunt down another couple of sets to keep in the original paint scheme and pair with a stock F40PH to make the 1994 version.

I actually finished them 2 weekends ago, but it shows what I've been up to, modeling-wise:

Not the best work I've ever done, but its bringing in free money to the CRHS...

Had to go to a family reunion on my wife's side of the family.  She was already there so I had a chance to do some railfanning on the way to the reunion.  Stopped at a hobby shop and picked up some scenery material and some extra track.

Here's a couple photos from near the shop, which is located in Virginia.

Can anyone guess where this track went.  Yes, it is in VA and no you don't get a prize from me for guessing correctly.

Have some other photos I'll post in this Thursday Proto Photo.

Bob,

What town were you in?  I have a Railroad Atlas for the Mid-Atlantic States and might be able to answer that question, if you can provide some more information.
