Blueford Shops 86' PS Boxcar

I just looked at Feather River Train Shop's web site, and he has some test shots of the Blueford Shops 86' PS Boxcars.  They look pretty good.  At the risk of being blasted, I will offer my initial thoughts.  The weld seams look over done.  Next, the stirrups aren't that fine.  Third, the ladders look bulky.  And finally, I think body mounted coupler pockets is a bad idea.  Even the prototype car has a wide pocket that allows the coupler to swing from side to side some.  They sould make them like the Micro Trains 89' flatcars.  Just my opinion.  I am waiting for Conrail X60G's with large logos, Conrail X60G's with regular size logs that were painted before 1981, Penn Central X60G's, and PRR X60G's myself.  I have mentioned this before, but Conrail had the largest fleet of autoparts boxcars bar none.   I will have to pass on the initial offerings.  Thanks.

I agreed initially about the seams, but after talking with the guys, it turns out that it's just the photo, that they're actually the same as on Atlas cars.

But yeah, these are going to ROCK!!!!

These do exactly the same thing.

The draft gear swings independently from the truck and is spring-centered.

found this on that other forum;

minimum radius is always a challenge with a car this long. At the very least, we were planning for a very comfortable 11" radius although it does appear at this stage that it will do even tighter. The draft gear will pivot.

and even more important

MILW had more than 1 quad door car but their double door fleet was much larger so we'll do triplets of those when they come up in the rotation.

Blueford Shops needs to look at the Conrail Color Guide for some good early paint jobs for Conrail X60G's.  I am willing to supply them with additional numbers for certain paint schemes shown in that book.  I have a lot of photos of these cars "painted in before 1981" paint jobs.  I would rather have them made available ready to go instead of masking them off and painting them myself!  But, if push comes to shove...

What undec are you referring to? I don't think Bluford is offering an undecorated model.

If you look near the top it states:

"86001 Undecorated Double Door car; 87001 Undecorated Quad Door car."

In my quick searches I only saw them priced at par, your site didnt have the undec's.
