I meant to mention that...latest N-Scale Collector magazine has full page ad for the new car (40' drop bottom gondola with wood chip extension).  Seeing Lee's great work on those 55 ton hoppers reminded me to post something, but Bob beat me to it.

Yeah I saw that as well last week . I will need more celery seeds I guess . I still have to celerize the Dimi's I have and loaded with little anises in error . I am going to have to live much longer than statistics chart for a quasi human . :-[

Isn't the drop bottom gon already in their repertoire?  Are they just adding the extensions and calling it a new body style?

And if it's so new, why is it still 12' off the rail?

Lee,

Yes and yes.  The drop bottom gondola was their last new model.  It appears the extension is a seperate add-on part.

Dunno...probably has to do with the MT coupler pocket and clearance from the end sill.
