New IM cabooses?

In all fairness to IM they seem to have a somewhat decent track record on releasing most freight cars.  Diesels is another matter.

??? The last new freight car tooling they produced was the 60' flat car. How many years was that in production?

Intermountain - 6 items (1) Pfaulder milk car (2) SD45-2 in 12 paint schemes by Dec (I asked twice and never did get an answer on why the first 6 were delayed by 6 months at the last minute), (3) 60' flat in Nov/Dec.  Unit is now diecast metal, (4) ATSF Stockcar - Jan/Feb 08, (5) AC12 Cab Forward - all drawings done, cutting steel for tooling, anticipated late winter/early spring 2008, (6) U18B - all drawings are done, they will be starting tooling when they finish AC12.

That is a Texas and Pacific prototype on which MT hung ATSF markings.  I stand by my original statement.

Just to be a ball buster. I think most of us would agree that it's a Santa Fe "Style" caboose though!  But then again, try contacting MT. I doubt they'll be able to tell you what prototype it's supposed to be!

Sigh... what a waste of tooling. The LL ATSF cab is very good. All it needs is window glass, correct trucks and finer handrails. As an added bonus, it features uniform rivit strips.

Plastic is the way to go, but I'm still going ahead with my Ce-1 in round roof & peaked roof. Besides, I already have time in the research and artwork.
