I have payed people with paypal and got the "pay me" e-mail. They sent me 2 alerts on e-bay as well. He got his money I gave e-bay all the paypal info on the transaction, but the alerts are still there.

Be aware that there is a major paypal problem with non-ebay merchants in the past several weeks - double billing.  Not the fault of the merchants, and so far no fix in sight.

eBay stock rose a little when they jacked up their sellers' fees but BNSF has been a much better gamble recently:

Found an InterMountain kit I had been looking for last night on eBay, bid and was successful. This is the last car kit I had been looking for. So, basically all I'm searching for now is railroad belt buckles, one in particular, which I have never seen on eBay.

There were two PRR big steamers on last week, a J1 went for almost a thou, and a Q2 went for 1350! I guess I really lucked out getting an H8 for less than $425.

I hate the fact that it now hides bidder identities on all items. If I see an item I'm interested in and a friend is bidding on it, I don't go trying to outbid them. No way to tell now. I'm sure a lot of people operate under the same gentleman's agreement, so this new development might end up leading to hard feelings among some people. That sucks.  :(

Read the "Seller Central" forum at Ebay...

The model rr community is so well behaved that we rarely have problems on Ebay, but many of the others are in major turmoil. This counterfeit thing is so bad that there are a zillion rules on what countries can sell to other countries to minimize ebay's exposure.

Hell, I'm 1/4 French and I still make fun of them.  Guess it's the 1/4 German in me that can't help itself!  The Scott/Irish don't count.
