How much do you spend on MR in a month?

Hi,
after reading this on a european forum I'd like to know how you spend on average for model railroad items (rolling stock, track, buildings, miscellaneous)

I spend an average of 80$ a month on MR items...depending on what I could sell on ebay or what I get on extra payment from nightshifts.

I, for one, don't keep track. Some months I may spend nothing while in other months I may make two three figure purchases, but the "nothing" months far outnumber the latter. I could spend nothing for the next decade and still have things to do...Especially building kits.

Seeing as the most money I've had in my life is about 400 bucks, i have no job, theres no hobby shop for 60 miles and I'm not old enough to drive, Id say its a pretty small amount. :P

I have been spending a little more this month because I am working out of town and found a shop that is exclusively N-scale, plus I have been bidding on a lot of stuff on eBay lately.
I do this because my layout is in storage until the wife and I find a suitable house or build one.
The forums keep me abreast of what is going on within the hobby and what all you guys and gals are doing on your layouts.
As to how much did I spend ? over 1K the last 30 days :o.

Usually in the $40-100 range month to month but a couple times a year I'll do $400-500.

Family and work life is steady right now so this seems a comfortable amount on a hobby I have been putting more effort into for the last year and a half.

Model railroading isn't saving my life, but it's providing me moments of joy not normally associated with my current situation..... Train are good!

Only what my wife lets me spend!!!  When I am done with my models I can put them away... I've gotta live with her!!!

I never posted about it here, but I've been selling off my N scale collection.

So....  I have been stalking the positive cashflow beast.  It is a rare creature, elusive, and only known to a few modellers.

In the past, I typically poured $75-150 into the train budget every month.  There was a 3 year period with zero spending, though.  I was utterly irritated and bummed out after losing a small layout and equipment to a hurricane.  
As of now, train money has been lumped into the 'hobby budget'.  The Hobby Budget has been growing by $350-450 a month for almost three months now.  ;D

In happier times I could run up about 2-300 a month on a fairly regular basis.  But between the general economy being soft, and my personal economy being downright wobbly, it's considerably less now.

I've also made most of my "big ticket" purchases (i.e. Walthers turntable, DCC system, gobs of turnouts etc.) so my recent purchases haven't had to be big.  Mostly decoders, couplers and detail parts.

Last year I would have said about $50-$100 per month.  This year I made the mistake of giving the Mrs. a tour of the layout room.  She saw all the unfinished projects and now my budget's been slashed  :'(
