Been working on kits and ballasting to finish off this town section

yep I've looked at that, and probably with some cutting it'd fit. Thing it now it has the right trucks, and the Kato has the later style, so I'd rather, if I could just swap the wheels. When I test ran it, it went ok despite being 30 years old and lacking decent lubrication.

Finally started putting foliage and trees down on a rock cut. I've got a lot more trees to make and a bunch of smaller bushes and more around the rocks, but it is coming along...

Well, I was just planning to post a quick & dirty snap of my progress towards a customized Thrall 5-pack, but as luck would have it, lasheup has gone and posted a MASTERPIECE of scenery work right before me.  What an amazing piece of work that scene is turning out to be - and what a tough act to follow.

Here's my bit anyway. I'm posting to Railwire because this set was painted in a faded version of Conrail blue  , even though it's hard to tell with this lighting.  The decals are scrounged from various Microscale sets, but the reporting markings are too large, so I'm appealing to engineshop for help in printing some custom marks while finishing up the rest of the work: more decaling, then weathering.  Have a good week everyone.  -Gary



P.S. Ed - thanks for posting the shots from Todd's open house.  My only complaint is that those Conrail units were blocking the view of the stack train.   ;D  But seriously, it looks like an event not to be missed.

Not a lot this weekend as my parents came down for a visit. I did get to look after the NMRA stand at the Brisbane Train Show on Sunday though.

Looks like a model of a UP "Bull Moose" 2-8-8-0. Is it scratchbuilt in N scale??

Thanks for the comments guys.  Paul - those hi-res photos are great reference.  I appreciate it!  James - this will be for the contest *if* I get it done in time; I'm a slow worker.  I'm looking forward to your entries this year too (I hope you have some).  I was *really* impressed with your container weathering.  Now if only I could take photos like lashedup...    Gary

Lets see I did some railfanning and I also have been working on finishing my scratchbuilt Pratt Truss bridge
pics will be posted this week hopefully. Next will be to paint and weather it.
