My 0-8-0 has the same motor that goes in this S2.

It's funny because you both made sure to use the word "equal".  And that's my whole problem with the debate.  Rarely can you compare the exact motor with 3 and 5 poles.  And unless you can there are always other factors.

I've got two motors coming from Eldon.  It looks like he provides sleeving ($5) that is exacly what Chriss posted.  I may still look into the flywheel angle, but I can always go back and add that later.

That is precisely why I said all other things being equal. I then proceeded to point out that some of the newer 3 polers may be better than some older 5 polers. The obvious simpleton conclusion being that 3 polers are better than 5 polers! ::)
