If you think Atlas has an "HO" bias...you're wrong!

From the first quarter 2008 Atlas Catalog:

"In N Scale, we produce over 45 different rolling stock body styles and some 500 different paint schemes. In HO, we make more than 25 different rolling stock body styles and over 265 different paint schemes."

Folks, that's about 1.8 to 1 in favor of N scale.     

I guess it's just that us N scalers want some of the HO goodies, but the HOer's have more to be envious of. Now, when do we get Middlesex Mfg. in N Scale, Paul and Cory??

Well, they only started doing HO what, about 15 years ago? So it's not surprising they have more body styles in N scale...although I would expect any company that wants to maximize its return on investment would have a preference towards HO, simply because it's a much larger market.

I wouldn't call one model a series. 

I like my Arnolds but everything is such a chore or really expensive when compared to working on most locomotives.  I defended the good 'ol boy for some time now but maybe it's time for some new blood.

Atlas is probably pays the most attention to n scale out of all the major manufactures. There not perfect but, hey I'll take what I can get.

Atlas started doing locomotive models with Roco around 1979 to 1980.  Took 20 to 25 years for them to do the same locomotives in N-scale, but the N-scale models beat the socks of the original Roco units... but still no FP7...  :-[
